Detox is a classic new year’s resolution but it can be fairly vague, to ‘detox’ literally means to rid the body of toxins and this is usually done by dieting and avoiding certain types of food or drink. There is little evidence to back up a detox diet, and limiting yourself to a very few number of foods can actually be harmful. Detox after Christmas usually involves on cutting down on alcohol and fatty foods which is certainly not a bad thing , the problem is after a few weeks in January it seems like a great idea to start drinking again and to eat more fatty foods, a permanent strict detox isn’t really feasible.
Detoxing is generally a fad and their isn’t much scientific evidence to back it up. However, green tea is cited in many detox diets and that is certainly no bad thing. Green tea is hailed as one of the most anti-oxidant rich drinks, believed to be anti-inflamatory and anti-carcinogenic also, green tea is a dieters dream and can be enjoyed perfectly with one of Espresso Deco’s quality thermo mugs.
